Very Versailles in Just Jade

After completing my Triple 1 Challenge, I decided to take it up a notch. The basics are the same: one color paper, one color ink, one stamp set. Since I used Very Versailles in my previous post, I brought it back out to use it with one of our current In Colors from the 2020 – 2022 collection, Just Jade. I’m in LOVE with Just Jade and since my matching ribbon recently arrived, I wanted to incorporate it in this card.

The base of my card and the card front (layer) are both Basic White (thick for the base). I started by creating a soft wash of color with the Stampin’ Up! Blending Brushes. Once I was happy with that first layer, I inked the script stamp from this set, stamped off on a scrap piece of paper and then stamped onto my cardstock for a lighter tone of Just Jade. I repeated that twice.

For the lace design, I used a similar technique, this time stamping off multiple times for a lighter tone effect. The last layers on the base card, the branches were stamped at either corner. The bottom right corner was stamped first, then the top left with the remaining ink on the stamp.

The last two stamped images, also from this set, were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White, then fussy cut. I added ribbon around the card top, adhered to the back of the card with Tombow glue. I also added a glue dot to the back of the ribbon right at the center of the card to keep it tacked down. I then tied a bow and adhered that with a couple of glue dots. That fussy cut framed sentiment came next, adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a bit of height. That top layer was then adhered to the Thick Basic White card base.

Is it perfect? Not a bit. I will admit to having a hard time with the lace pattern and trying to determine exactly how I wanted to use it on the card as an accept. My goal was to use every stamp in the set, which I accomplished. I ended up hiding the part I wasn’t most pleased with under the framed sentiment. Just a little idea you can use if you card is almost complete and then you have a little mistake or something not quite right you need to disguise. Overall, I’m happy with the way it turned out.

I’m even happier that this set WILL be carried over into the May 2021 – April 2022 annual catalog! The elements from Very Versailles can easily be mixed with other sets to create a whole new look. You can find all of the products listed below that were used to create this card.
