I’m sure ALL of you have had to celebrate milestones in your life, such as birthdays, weddings, baby showers, and graduations to name a few. When it comes to those BIG milestone celebrations, nothing is worse than not being able to be with your loved ones due to circumstances beyond our control, such as COVID-19. I was recently asked by my dear sister-in-law if I could create not one, not two, but 35 birthday cards for the SAME person – her mother who was celebrating her 80th birthday! The plan was to send the cards to family members, have them write a sweet message inside them, then send all of them to her mother and have her open them during a Zoom conference. I loved the idea!

At first, I thought it wouldn’t be a problem at all. When I create cards, I like to make multiple of the same design, which was my initial plan. Then it hit me as I was barely two cards into this project – ALL of these were going to the same person, so I had to try and use as much variety as I could in my designs. It would simply not be possible for me to do 5 of each design (one for her mother and the other 4 for me to use).

Confession time! I love florals! I don’t consider myself to be a a girly-girl, but beautiful floral cards just make my heart beat a little faster. However, I had to ensure that a few of these cards weren’t too feminine so the men in her life could use them, too. In the end, here are the cards that I created. Not all of them are Stampin’ Up! designs, but most are. Can you tell what some of her favorite things are by the card covers?

Yes, that’s a stuffed Porg on my desk and I was watching “Say Yes to the Dress”! Take note of how full that trashcan was! That’s one of two that I keep in my room. Thankfully, it doesn’t look like this hot mess any longer.
