About Me
Greetings! My name is Caroline Bucky-Beaver and I’m so glad you’re here. So, a little about me…by day, I’m an 8th Grade STEM teacher, focusing on computer science and engineering. Prior to that, I was an instructional technology coordinator and constantly working with all kinds of tech, which is the geeky side of me. However, after having my fingers dance across a keyboard and staring at a monitor for most of my day, I loved coming home and creating something with my hands. That’s where my love of scrapbooking, card making and paper crafts came into being.
Now, I’m not totally off the grid when it comes to my hobby. My cutting machines are a close and personal friend of mine, which require technology to create shirts and decals, cards and more. Oh, and I’m a bit of a Pinterest and Instagram addict, too. They’re like a daily treasure chest of new surprises and lovely ideas.
My love of card making led me to becoming an Independent Stampin’ Up Demonstrator, both for the discount and for the opportunity to share what I love doing. If you’re interested in learning more about making cards and/or stamping, then I’m a great person to ask! No prior experience necessary! I would be happy to help. I also sell my card creations and do custom orders, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any inquiries.
On a more personal note, I’ve been married to my best friend, Rick, for seven years. Shocker, we met online. Together we have one sweet fur baby, Lizzie, three adult children (his daughter and my identical twin sons), and two grandchildren (a girl and another “coming soon”.)
In 2009, my oldest son, Chase, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at the age of 13. He fought the disease for ten years, one month and two days before relocating to heaven on April 27th, 2019. If there was anyone who lived life to the fullest, always smiling and yes, chasing the joys life has to offer, it was him, which made him and how he lived the perfect inspiration for the name Chasing Joy Boutique.
