Is it just me that gets that giddy sense of anticipation when a new catalog is about to be revealed? I know I’m biased, but I kept refreshing my browser until I could access to the PDF version of the new 2021 – 2022 Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog. I was definitely not disappointed! I already have at least 17 tags sticking out of the side of my catalog marking my “wish list” items!! Yikes! Thankfully, as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, we’re given a select list of items that we can pre-order before the catalog goes live May 4th, 2o21. So, I was super excited to the Pansy Petals Suite available!!
This suite includes the Pansy Patch bundle (Pansy Patch stamp set and Pansy Dies), the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper, and Bumble Bee Trinkets. I opted out of the trinkets and picked up the gorgeous 2021-2023 In Color Jewels instead. Oh, and the new In Colors? Love, love, love them and the Pansy Petals DSP features ALL of them together.
Here is a Belly Band Window card I created with this suite and featuring additional products, which are available now and listed below.
This was my first attempt at creating a card that utilizes a “belly band”. My friend, Ginger, sent me a video by Connie Stewart where she shows this type of card. I loved the idea and thought I’d give it a try.
This is not your typical A2 card size. The actual card measures smaller to allow the band to slip on and off. The band itself is also slightly smaller than the traditional 4.25″. My base features one of our new In Colors Soft Succulent. The branches, from the Tasteful Touches set, were stamped in the same color after being stamped off to lighten the color.
I used the new DSP (Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and I believe Soft Seafoam) for the band. You can see the pattern on the other side in the picture below.
I cut the window and the sentiment label (Basic White) using the Hippo and Friends Dies and stamped the sentiment, from the In Bloom stamp set in Evening Evergreen.
The Pansy features quite a few color of cardstock, ink and Stampin’ Blends, (see the list below). Full disclosure, it took me several tries to get my pansy to look the way I wanted. Lots of experimenting, but that’s part of crafting.
To finish the my card, I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the leaf and to the center of the pansy and added three Soft Succulent Jewels. The inside includes a Basic White panel and a die cut pansy bloom and stem.
I would love to hear what you think about this suite and the new In Colors. I’m hoping to post more samples soon! You can find all of the products I used to create this card below, with the exception of products in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, which I listed above. The catalog will be available online as a PDF May 4, 2021.
